PUBLIC ART MENTORSHIP PROGRAM

In addition to commission opportunities, the Phoenix Office of Arts and Culture Public Art Program has established a mentorship program for artists living in metropolitan Phoenix. Artists selected to participate in the mentorship program have the opportunity to work with an established public artist on a significant public art commission for the City of Phoenix and to earn an honorarium of up to $5,000.
Participating artists work directly with the established artists and will also meet with the public art staff and attend selected public meetings, community meetings, and design team meetings, as applicable, to develop a broader base of knowledge of the wide-ranging requirements of public projects. The scope of the work will vary for each mentorship opportunity depending on the nature of the public art commission, the mentoring artist and the needs and skills of the artist selected to participate in the program.
Artists interested in being considered for the program may submit application materials at any time. For additional information about the Public Art Mentorship Program, contact Andrea Galyean at 602-495-0196.
