The following strategic issues were identified during the cultural planning process and are addressed through the goals, objectives and strategies of the Arts and Cultural Plan.
How can the City of Phoenix:
- Raise awareness and articulate
the value of arts and culture?
- Develop and engage arts and
cultural audiences?
- Build community support for
arts and culture, to include philanthropic organizations, businesses, individuals
and government?
- Seek increased, dedicated funding
to support the nonprofit arts and cultural community, maintenance of the
city art collection, and arts programming for youth?
- Maximize, retain and leverage
assets (cultural facilities, collections, etc.) to be optimally effective?
- Engage and celebrate diverse
communities through arts and culture?
- Build sustainability of cultural
organizations, city cultural facilities and the city's art collection?
- Honor cultural and historic
resources while fostering cultural and heritage tourism?
- Foster life-long learning through
