Infill Incentive District Program

As with many programs, the Infill Incentive District Program has evolved to better meet the needs of today's development customers. A major incentive of the program was expedited plan review. The Development Services Department is proud to offer a series of programs designed to fast track plan review. The adaptive reuse of existing buildings for new purposes is a priority of the city of Phoenix. Redevelopment of older buildings, whether they are historical, dated, or in established areas of the city, promotes a more vibrant community. Because strict adherence to current building code standards may cause insurmountable challenges to prospective building owners, the city has adopted the International Existing Building Code (IEBC) to provide a method of relief from modern building code requirements while simultaneously assuring safety.
