Helping Homeless Children

The following also is provided in Spanish. Lo siguiente también es provisto en Español.

The Youth First Program is part of the city of Phoenix Human Services Department Community Services Division.

Youth First case management teams provide intensive case management, counseling and supportive services to homeless children who attend the Thomas J. Pappas County Accommodation schools. The children must have had contact with, or be at risk of contact with, the Juvenile Justice System.

The families of these children must have already used a number of shelter/service options and still not have been able to break the cycle of homelessness. In addition, the family must have substance abuse and/or mental health issues.

For more information, call 602-256-4297.

If you need emergency shelter or are a victim of domestic violence, call the Community Network for Accessing Shelter (CONTACS) at 602-263-8900 or 1-800-799-7739.
