Patriot's Square Redevelopment

The New Patriot's Square Park

BACKGROUND

On Oct. 4, 2006, the Phoenix City Council approved business terms with RED Development LLC and the Barron Collier Company for the redevelopment of three downtown blocks into urban, mixed-use retail, residential, office and open space uses. The area includes two privately held blocks bounded by Washington and Jefferson streets, Central Avenue and Second Street. The third block, Block 77, is bounded by Washington and Jefferson streets, Central and First avenues and consists of Patriots Square Park and an underground parking facility.

CityScape Blocks

On December 26, 2007, Patriot's Square Park was temporarily closed to the public. Work has since begun to repair the subsurface parking garage and initiate the redevelopment of the park. Construction updates will be posted periodically.
