Copper Square and the surrounding Downtown area is the cultural
heart of Greater Phoenix. The downtown area is home to many galleries and
cultural attractions such as the Phoenix
Museum of History, the Arizona
Science Center, Heritage Square's Rosson House Museum,
Phoenix
Symphony Hall, Herberger
Theater, and the Historic
Orpheum Theater. Downtown Phoenix also houses the
Phoenix Police Museum, Wells Fargo History Museum, Museo Chicano, and Arizona's Mining & Mineral Museum. In addition, the Burton
Barr Central Library, the Phoenix
Art Museum, Phoenix
Theater, and the 5,000 seat Dodge
Theatre can all be found in downtown Phoenix. There's also the art phenomenon of
First Fridays!.
