Barbara Koffron

Barbara Koffron joined the Phoenix Fire Department in 1978 as an Administrative aide to the Fire Marshal. She has worked her way through the civilian ranks as a Fire Inspector, Supervisor and Section Manager to her current position as Fire Marshal.

Barbara oversees the PFD's Fire Prevention Division. This division includes Water Services, New Construction, Plans Review and the Code Enforcement Sections.

Barbara is a member of the Board of Directors for the International Code Council. She is chairman of the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) Technical Correlating Committee on Professional Qualifications for the Fire Service and a member and past Chairman of the Technical Committee on Professional Qualifications for Fire Inspectors. She served on both the Uniform Fire Code and the International Fire Code Development Committees. Currently she represents the Fire Department on the City of Phoenix Development Advisory Board and the State Fire Safety Committee.
