Steve Kreis

Steve Kreis has been a member of the Phoenix Fire Department for 32 years. He started in 1975 as a firefighter, promoted through the system and is currently the Executive Assistant Chief of Operations. This includes Emergency Services, Emergency Medical Services and Urban Services Divisions.

He has a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science and a Masters Degree in Public Administration from Arizona State University. He is also an adjunct instructor at Phoenix College and Arizona State University in the Fire Science Curriculum.

Chief Kreis is a member of the Fire Department Instructor’s Conference (FDIC) Advisory Committee and served on the International Fire Service Training Association (IFSTA) Executive Board for eight years. He has written numerous articles for Fire Engineering Magazine and is a member of many other professional and civic organizations.
