Chief
Rick D. Bartee Rick Bartee is currently the Assistant Chief of Urban Services for the Phoenix Fire Department.
Chief Bartee has spent the last 26 years as a member of the Phoenix Fire Department. He began his fire service career in 1981. He quickly progressed through the ranks as an Engineer, Captain and Shift Commander in the Central District and in Operations.
In 1999 he was made Deputy Chief and over the next eight years he oversaw the Health, Wellness and Fitness Center, the Emergency Medical Services Section, the South Mountain Fire District, Battalion 8, and North Shift Command.
Chief Bartee was the rescue team manager for Arizona’s task force sent to assist at the World Trade Center and at Hurricane Katrina. He was also the strike team leader when the Phoenix Fire Department sent a deployment to the Space Shuttle Columbia incident.
He was named Assistant Chief of Urban Services in November of 2007.
