Bobby Ruiz
Bobby Ruiz became a Phoenix
firefighter in 1974. He quickly
ascended to the position of paramedic and became a Captain Paramedic
in Operations in 1980, While there he was responsible for the supervision
of firefighting and paramedic activities within various Phoenix fire
stations.
In 1985, Bobby Ruiz was promoted
to Battalion Chief in Suppression where he was made responsible
for the command of field incidents. Three
years later, he was made a Deputy Chief over the Fire Investigations
Section where he managed arson investigations.
In 1993, Ruiz received his
Bachelor of Arts degree in Organizational Management from the University
of Phoenix. He went on to get
his Masters of Education degree in Educational Leadership from Northern
Arizona State University in 2001.
In April of 2007 he was made
Assistant Chief over the Urban Services Division. In January 2008, Chief Ruiz
now oversees the Medical Services Division. This includes Emergency Medical Services, Crisis Response and Transportation Services..
He is married with three children
