Description Open Doors Initiative Program Funds are made available to eligible homebuyers who are at or below 80% area median income, are buying a home in Phoenix and who will use the home as their primary residence. The assistance comes in form of a loan in the amount of $15,000 to provide down payment and closing cost assistance to low/moderate income homebuyers. Description Funds are made available in the form of low-interest loans for the construction, acquisition and rehabilitation of multi-unit rental housing for low-income households. Nonprofit and for profit housing developers are eligible to apply, depending on the funding source. We have an open application process with applications accepted on any working day of every month. Description The Neighborhood Services Department has several loan and grant programs designed to help residents meet code requirements and improve the safety, comfort, appearance and value of their homes. Programs include the Emergency Home Repair Program, Hardship Assistance Program and Weatherization Assistance Program. The Rental Rehabilitation program also is offered for multi-family housing. Description Funds are made available to nonprofit agencies for acquisition and/or rehabilitation and limited new construction to produce supportive housing for special needs populations. Special needs populations include homeless people, victims of domestic violence, people with disabilities, youth in crisis, people living with HIV/AIDS and the elderly.
