DISTINGUISHING FEATURES OF THE CLASS:

The fundamental reason this classification exists is coordinate and resolve highly complex development services activities. The incumbent receives only nominal supervision and has very substantial responsibility in working with heads of other departments and divisions in coordinating property development activities. The Administrator has the authority to grant development fee waivers and expedite approval of development projects in cases of economic hardship or substantial adverse impact on surrounding areas. Work is performed under the general supervision of the Deputy City Manager and is evaluated on the basis of results achieved.

ACCEPTABLE EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING:
Five years of responsible experience in public administration or public sector development services including one year of supervisory experience and a master's degree in planning or public administration, or a closely related field. Other combinations of experience and education that meet the minimum requirements may be substituted.
