The Municipal Security Guard, on assignment as lead, is responsible for overseeing Security Guard positions assigned to the downtown complex. This includes Phoenix City Hall, the Calvin C. Goode Building, Historic City Hall, the 305 Building, and the City Council Chambers. The incumbents are required to make work assignments; determine shift rotations; complete daily activity reports; train new staff; and provide input on performance evaluations and disciplinary actions. They also handle the more difficult and critical security problems; ensure that the downtown facilities management team is advised of all issues and problems; and provide information to guards regarding special events scheduled during their shifts. This assignment is distinguished from the base class by its lead duties.
