Learn the Process to File a Barking Dog Criminal Charge
Scales of Justice

  1. Talk to your neighbor.
  2. Document dates and times when dog(s) are barking.
  3. Download petition & information form.
  4. Obtain signature of at least 3 parties (no more than 2 of the parties may reside at the same residence).
        OR
  5. Gather evidence such as video tapes, audio tapes, or written log of barking incidents.
  6. Mail petition, information form, and any evidence to the City Prosecutor's Office.
  7. Keep a copy of petition.
  8. Once approved, appear before a judge to sign the complaint.
  9. Receive written information regarding case status.
  10. Appear and testify at trial.
