Name of Program or Project: South Mountain Park trail repair/maintenance
Day and Date: Wed, April 22nd, and then every wednesday until May 20th (ongoing project)
Time to Meet: 7:00 am
Exact location to meet: Will be stated to Stewards once they have contacted the liason and confirmed.
Actual time of project or program: 7 to 11 a.m.
What is the project or program: trail repair and erosion control of trails. We will be moving large boulders, moving dirt and rocks, placing boulders and fixing water bars on various trail sections. be ready to hike in with tools, wearing close toed shoes, sun protection, and carry water.

Name of The Program or Project: Judith Tunnell Barrier-Free Trail Repair & Maintence Project
Day and Date: Sat., May 30th, 2009
Exact location to meet: South Mountain Environmental Education Center, 10409 S. Central Avenue, Phoenix, AZ 85042
Actual time of project or program: 6:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.
What is the project or program: You will be working with teenagers that are working towards hours for City of Phoenix River Rampage trip. We will be sweeping off dirt and soil on the barrier free trail, filling in small holes on the trail, cleaning signs, closing off undesignated trails, trimming bushes and trees. We will be placing rip rap where needed for erosion problem areas. If time permits, placing wood fencing in.

Name of Program or Project: Meet Your Ranger and Steward Day, in celebration of National Trails Day
Day and Date: Saturday, June 6th, 2009
Exact locations(s) to meet: One is at the Pima Canyon Trailhead (east entrance), Desert Foothills Trailhead (south entrance), and Holbert Trailhead (central entrance)
Actual time of project or program: 6 a.m. to 11 a.m.
What is the project or program: Meet and greet the park users with the park rangers at each trailhead. Answer questions related to the park and hand out pertinet information regarding trails, trail use, regulations, and park user information. Good chance to gather helpful information from the rangers and from the public, as well as give helpful information to all park user groups.
