Northern Phoenix Development Activity

The Major Projects Map (6.9 MB, PDF¹) shows the general location of recent developments and planning activity in the Desert View, North Gateway, and Rio Vista villages. Planning activity includes rezoning and General Plan amendments currently being processed. The numbers on the map correspond to the Major Project Map project-key (13 KB, PDF¹) which provides a brief description of the project. The map also shows the location of State Trust land, which is managed by the Arizona State Land Department (ASLD). The city of Phoenix Planning Department works closely with ASLD to determine appropriate disposition, phasing schedules, and land use plans for the trust land. A land use map (3.6 MB, PDF¹) of the Desert Ridge Specific Plan (2.6 MB, PDF¹) has also been provided by ASLD. They are focused on selling/leasing land within this area during 2006.

Also, Arizona Public Service (APS) has undertaken a transmission line study to connect the Pinnacle Peak substation with the TS-9 substation located within the City of Peoria. The new 500/230 kV lines are necessary to serve new/planned development within the north area of Phoenix. The Ts-9 Study Area: Major Developments map (1.4 MB, PDF¹) was created by the City of Phoenix in response to an APS request for development activity within the study corridor. The map only shows major developments and the table corresponds with the numbered items on the map.
