The Youth Firesetter Intervention Program offers free monthly classes for children and youth ages three to seventeen years of age. A parent or guardian is required to attend the youth firesetter class with their child. The entire family is encouraged to attend and observe the class.
Steps to Attending a Class
1. Call to arrange attendance in the class or complete the Referral Form
Youth, ages 7-17, and youth diverted by the juvenile court attend one Thursday class from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. Please arrive no later than 2:30 p.m. for registration. All classes are held at the Phoenix Fire Department Fire Administration Building located at 150 S. 12th Street in Phoenix, Arizona.
Classes are held the first Thursday of each month

- State of Arizona Arson Laws
- Fines and Responsibilities
- Fire Behavior
- Fire Escape Plan
- Smoke Detectors
- Fireworks Safety
- Burn Injuries
- Community Service
- Safety Tools
2. Return the call and provide the reason for wanting to have your child attend.
3. You will receive a written invitation and directions to attend the class. You will receive your Community Service Worksheet at the same time.
