Civilian Employment within the Phoenix Police Department
Information Provided by the Police Department

Listed below are general factors for disqualification regarding civilian employment with the Phoenix Police Department. These factors should not be considered as totally inclusive for condition of employment.

Conviction of a felony

Conviction of a misdemeanor within the last 3 years

Dishonorable discharge from the United States Armed Forces

A DUI arrest in the past 36 months or more than one DUI arrest in a lifetime

Driving record and license suspensions will be evaluated with respect to the requirements of the job being applied for

Breach of integrity: employee thefts or being dishonest in your job performance

Financial issues:   Bankruptcy must be discharged and 6 months have passed.  All current debt must be up to date with no delinquencies or outstanding collection accounts

Any outstanding criminal charges

Meet the Phoenix Police Department drug standards.

Note: Exceptions may apply and will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis.
