The city provides certification services for minority, woman and small businesses interested in participating in the MWSBE program as a means of expanding and growing their firms.
MWBE Certification Eligibility
- Business located in Maricopa County
- Business must be at least 51 percent owned by an eligible minority or woman
- Owner(s) has a personal net worth of less than $750,000 (not including primary residence and business equity)
- Minority or woman owner has the expertise to control day-to-day critical operations of the firm and routinely exercises such control
- Firm has been operational for at least six months or has completed four contracts/job orders
- Owner(s) is a citizen or legal resident of the United States
SBE Certification Eligibility
- Firm has been operational for at least six months
- Owner(s) has a personal net worth less than $750,000 (not including primary residence and business equity)
- Owner controls the day-to-day critical operations of the firm
- Owner(s) is a citizen or legal resident of the United States
