Phoenix City Councilman Bill Gates will host three outreach events during the month of September to connect with residents.  The first event is a tour of a nonprofit organization in his district, Foundation for Blind Children (FBC).  The tour will be from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 20, 1235 E. Harmont Drive.  The FBC is the largest nonprofit agency of its kind in the country, serving the blind and visually impaired of all ages.

His monthly coffee chat will be from 7:30 to 9 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 22, at the Sunnyslope Historical Society, 737 E. Hatcher Road.  Unlike other chats, there will be no guest speaker this month.  Instead, attendees will get to tour the museum and learn more about Sunnyslope during its 100-year celebration.  Coffee and donuts will be provided and residents are encouraged to ask Councilman Gates any questions they have about the city of Phoenix.

Residents also can provide feedback or share ideas on city issues during his September office hours (by appointment only). Councilman Gates will be available from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Monday, Sept. 26, at the John C. Lincoln Cowden Center, 9202 N. Second St.

Residents can schedule an appointment by contacting Councilman Gates’ office at 602-262-7441 or email council.district.3@phoenix.gov.  To stay connected with the Councilman, residents are encouraged to follow him on Twitter at @BillGatesAZ or like his Facebook Page (Bill Gates Arizona).
