The Phoenix Police Department is teaming up with the U.S. Drug Enforcement Bureau and community partners take part in a nationwide prescription drug take-back event from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 29.
Collection sites will be set up around the nation and around Phoenix where unused, unneeded and expired prescription medications can be turned in.
Phoenix locations:
- Ahwatukee: Target Shopping Center 4734 E. Ray Road
- Maryvale: Golden Gate Community Center, 1625 N. 39th Avenue and Desert Sky Mall Community Room 7611 W. Thomas Road
- Central City: Target at Arcadia Crossing 4515 E. Thomas Road
- Estrella Mountain: Community Room, 2111 S. 99th Avenue
- South Mountain: Target Shopping Plaza 2140 E. Baseline Road
- Desert Horizon: Desert Horizon Precinct, 16030 N. 56th Street and Sunnyslope Neighborhood Substation, 750 W. Peoria Avenue
- Cactus Park: Metrocenter Mall, 9617 N. Metro Parkway
- Black Mountain: Goelet A.C. Beuf Community Center, 3435 W. Pinnacle Peak Road
- Squaw Peak: Target at Spectrum Mall 5715 E. Thomas Road
Unused or expired prescription medications are a public safety issue, leading to accidental poisoning, overdose and abuse.Tablets, capsules, and all other solid dosage forms will be collected. Intravenous solutions, injectibles and syringes will not be accepted. This service is free and anonymous.
