Join Councilman Nowakowski at a Free Water Safety Event and Movie in the Park
Residents are invited to attend a free water safety event and Movie in the Park hosted by Councilman Michael Nowakowski from 5 to 10 p.m. Saturday, June 27, at University Park, 1002 W. Van Buren St.
From 5 to 7 p.m., families can enjoy a free dip in the pool and meet Buddy Bear, the city of Phoenix Aquatics mascot. Food also will be available for purchase.
Beginning at 7 p.m., the event will feature the movie “La Misma Luna” (“Under the Same Moon”). The movie follows the parallel stories of a nine-year-old boy named Carlitos and his mother Rosario, played by Kate del Castillo, and their struggle to reunite as Rosario heads to the United States to look for work and Carlitos stays behind with his grandmother. The movie will be in Spanish with English subtitles.
