Million dollars worth of marijuana found
The Phoenix Police Gang Enforcement Unit was conducting crime suppression patrol in the area of 75th Avenue and McDowell Road when they responded to an anonymous 911 call of a suspicious vehicle in the parking lot of local hardware store.
The vehicle was described as a box rental truck that was left unattended for a long period of time. When officers arrived they smelled a strong of odor of marijuana coming from the truck.
Officers searched the vehicle discovered several bales of marijuana in the back storage compartment of the truck.
According to investigators the total weight amount was 2000 pounds, with a street value of approximately 1 million dollars.
