Attempted Homicide - 4400 South 4th Street

Time:              Approximately 1648 Hours

 

Location:        4400 S. 4th Street

 

On June 24, 2009, at about at about 4:48 p.m., at 4400 S. 4th Street, a 56-year-old woman was in the process of firing Benny Peralta.  Peralta had been hired to assist in caring for her 62-year-old husband, but things were not working out.  Peralta became upset and grabbed a dog from the husband’s lap, who was seated in a wheelchair and threw it against the wall.  Peralta then pulled the man from his wheelchair and stabbed him with a kitchen knife while he was on the ground.  The man’s wife tried to intervene, but Peralta struck her in the head with a frying pan.  Peralta then obtained money from the woman and fled.

 

Peralta was arrested and will be booked for the following charges: 

   1 Count Attempted Homicide

   1 Count Aggravated Assault

   1 Count Armed Robbery
