Family Fight Leaves One Woman Dead, One Hospitalized

Car at scene Phoenix police officers answered a call for unknown trouble at an apartment complex in the area of 27th Avenue and Indian School Road on Thursday, July 9, 2009 at approximately 1 p.m. They went to the leasing office where they met with a 25 year-old woman who had suffered a stab wound. She told the officers that she had been in a fight with her sister-in-law who lived in one of the apartments. During the altercation, both of the women received stab wounds. Paramedics were summoned and the woman was transported to a local hospital where she was being treated for serious, non life-threatening injuries.

MAC van at sceneMeanwhile, officers went to the apartment where the altercation occurred and discovered 38 year-old Aminata Moutaba deceased, apparently from stab wounds. Police were still investigating the reason for the altercation. Currently, no one is in custody. The investigation continues.
