Brothers commit murder
On June 1st, 2009, at about 5:00 p.m., Phoenix Police officers responded to the truck stop in the area of 1200 North 59th Avenue in reference to a shooting. Upon arrival officers learned the victim, Eduardo Prieto, had been in the parking lot of the business speaking with friends when an unknown suspect approached the group and, at point blank range, shot the victim in the head. The suspect then fled the area in an awaiting vehicle eastbound on West Latham. The victim was transported to a local hospital where he died from his injury.
Phoenix Police detectives learned, through the course of the investigation, that Gustavo Perez-Morodo and Juan Carlos Perez-Morodo, who are brothers, had traveled to the truck stop together and it had been Gustavo who had approached and shot the victim execution style. Juan Carlos then drove them away from the scene .

On August 5th, 2009 both Gustavo Perez-Morodo and Juan Carlo Perez-Morodo were arrested. Gustavo was booked on 1st degree murder charges, Juan Carlos was booked for conspiracy to commit 1st degree murder.
