Emergency - 911 |

Kids and cops—a great combination, especially when they come together for a good cause. The “Tip a Phoenix Motor Cop” event held recently at Applebee’s Restaurant in Ahwatukee provided an evening of great fun for everyone involved and raised more than $2,000 for Special Olympics of Arizona.
Diners at Applebee’s were greeted with a surprise as they pulled into the parking lot on Thursday, January 28, 2010. Filling a portion of the lot were displays by the Phoenix Police Special Assignments Unit (SAU), motor officers, and (everyone’s favorite), K-9 “Loke” and his officer handler. Phoenix police officers waited tables and brought lots of laughter that, in turn, brought out the tips that raised the bucks for Special Olympics. The total amount raised was $2,080 in just four hours.
