Airport Concessions Disparity Study
Study Purpose and Goals
The City of Phoenix (City) is conducting an Airport Concessions Disparity Study (Study) to determine if Airport Concession Disadvantaged Business Enterprises (ACDBEs) have an equal opportunity to compete for and participate in the concessions opportunities at Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport (Airport).
The results of the Study will be used by the City to administer an ACDBE program that ensures opportunities for eligible small businesses, meets federal regulatory requirements, and that is constitutional and legally defensible.
Community Participation
We will be conducting community outreach over the next several months to share and obtain information that will be considered in the Study. We welcome and need community participation in the following ways:
- Encouraging support of the Study;
- Identifying other members of the community who may have interest and information or experiences relative to the Airport’s concessions program;
- Attending forums and participating in surveys to receive and share information that will be considered in the Study;
- Providing information on the effects of discrimination on opportunities for ACDBEs;
- Community and business organizations’ including information about the Study in their newsletters and on their Web sites;
- Sharing information about the City’s efforts to provide equal opportunity for ACDBEs to participate in the Airport’s concession contracts;
- Informing us of the availability of disadvantaged businesses.
