AUTOMATED TRAIN
SYSTEM PROCUREMENT
The design-build-operate-maintain (DBOM) procurement method is a two-step solicitation process prescribed by state law and the appropriate selection framework for the System Supplier. The first step is the issuance of a Request for Qualifications (RFQ). The System Supplier RFQ was issued in June, 2007. Three firms were short-listed and will move forward to the second phase of the procurement process. The 3 finalists are:
- Bombardier Transportation (Holdings) USA, Inc.
- Ishikawajima-Harima Heavy Industries (IHI Arizona, Inc.)
- Sumitomo Corporation of America
For the second step of the process, a Request for Proposals (RFP) was issued to the three finalists on February 8, 2008. The finalists will prepare and submit separate technical and price proposals in response to the RFP requirements.
