Phoenix Police Department Breaking News

Real Simple Syndication (RSS) on phoenix.gov

The city of Phoenix recognizes that, in today’s hectic world, people are increasingly looking for faster and better ways to get their news and information. Therefore, RSS is now offered on phoenix.gov as a customer service.

What is RSS?

RSS is a format that easily allows Web-based content, such as news headlines, to be shared with, and read by, anyone having an RSS reader subscribing to a particular “feed.”  These feeds include links pointing back to the original Web site so subscribers can read the full news release, and these links update automatically.

How to Access RSS

There are a number of ways to access RSS feeds. You can install a news reader that displays RSS feeds from the Web sites you select, enabling you to view hundreds of headlines at once. After installing the news reader, you can add each feed manually from the Web site by clicking on the "Subscribe" or the "XML" orange button next to the feed.

An alternative to downloading a dedicated news reader is to use a Web-based news reader. For example, My Yahoo! or My AOL users can now add RSS feeds directly to their personal page.

We invite you to subscribe to one of our news feeds to keep up with what's going on in the city of Phoenix.
