Meet the supervisor

Operations and Events Coordinator Elexus Lopez

I am an Indigenous Chicanx artist. I've worked in management positions for the 3 years I have been a member of non-profit communities through volunteering and employment. I have a degree in Chicana Studies and Certified in Grant Writing specifically in Arts and Non-profit communities. I have helped facilitate arts and healing workshop and grant writing for Design Empowerment Phx through The Sagrado for adobe block making. I'm currently enrolled at ASU for my BA and plan to work with Xico during that time. Xico has done tremendously for me to succeed as both a student and young artist.

About this organization

Our biggest mission is to nourish a greater appreciation of the cultural and spiritual heritage of the Latinx and Indigenous people through the Arts. Xico believes in the transformative power of art and how we can aid the community through workshops, classes, and outreach programs. We think artists at every level in their artistic journey have value, merit, and potential. Youth is another part of our mission, and we encourage and support children and their access to the arts. Everyone should have access to their cultural history. Xico wants to provide access to studio space and resources to the community.
