This was the first project commissioned by the Phoenix Public Art Program in the late 1980s. The artist, assisted by Rene Trujillo from California State University, has created two colorful wall murals on each side of McDowell Road at the overpass of the Squaw Peak Parkway.  The imagery depicts an aerial view of the prehistoric Hohokam Salt River irrigation system combined with streetscape elements of the surrounding neighborhood and McDowell Road, circa 1950.
