​Temporary Projects​

Temporary commissions include a range of short-term projects that provide professional development for artists and that respond to selected locations or opportunities.  Temporary projects may include new media, art installations, sculptures and other changing displays.


​Influx provides opportunities for AZ artists to create site specific temporary Public Art Installations in a wide variety of locations all over the Valley! Cycle 8 is currently underway with work being shown in Phoenix, Glendale, Peoria, Scottsdale, Chandler and Tempe.

 7th Avenue @ Melrose Curve

​At this site works by visual artists or poets are selected for display on large scale double-sided translucent panels for approximately 1 - 2 years.  This is an on-going temporary project since 2004. Besides providing a changing urban gallery for the community and merchants, this project provides an entry into the public art process for Arizona artists who have not previously had a commission from the Office of Arts and Culture.  Since initiated The project has featured more than 30 Arizona artists and more than 25 poets.
