The Museum will also be offering gallery tours, kids crafts, and artifact show-and-tell stations set-up in the galleries where guests can see up close and touch different artifacts. Pueblo Grande Museum will also host a special lunch-time talk from noon to 1 p.m. with Steve Schumacher.<br><div><br><div>Lunch-Time Talk: The Second Wave of Pioneers in the Valley of the Sun<div>In the 1860s groups of farmers and miners, building on the knowledge of the native peoples of the area, transformed the Valley of the Sun into an agricultural powerhouse that is now the 5th largest metropolis in the U.S. In this presentation, you will learn about those early pioneers and their very colorful stories. Hear about how these intrepid men and women overcame all odds to not only make a living, but to build the city we know as Phoenix. You will also learn about what several areas of the original Phoenix town site looks like today.<br></div><br>Speaker Biography:<br>Steve Schumacher is an accomplished public speaker and leadership consultant, with a passion for the history of the greater Phoenix area over the past 10 years. Steve has authored two papers about the history of Phoenix and has given numerous presentations around the Valley about Phoenix history.
