Very little empirical data are available regarding the effects of variation in bow design on projectile performance, and this study compares recurve bows to less complex self-bow designs. In order to systematize the results, bows of different designs and a range of weights are analyzed using a bench rest rig and manufactured arrows. Chris Loendorf is a Senior Project Manager for the Gila River Indian Community Cultural Resource Management Program with over 30 years of experience and has worked on a wide variety of archaeological projects from the Southwest to the Northern Plains. </p> <p><br> </p><p><br> </p></div>
