The City of Phoenix will hold the regularly scheduled Council Election on Tuesday, August 29, 2017. In this election, registered voters who reside in the City of Phoenix in City Council Districts 2, 4, 6 and 8 will elect Councilmembers. There is no election for Mayor or Councilmembers in Districts 1, 3, 5 and 7 this year because the terms of the Councilmembers are staggered.
During the week of July 24, 2017, the City Clerk Department will mail a Sample Ballot Pamphlet to each residence address in Districts 2, 4, 6 and 8 where there is a registered voter. The pamphlet contains a sample ballot identifying the candidates, as well as information about early voting, a list of voting locations with the dates and times each are available, and a list of acceptable identification that can be used when voting at a voting location.
Voters can subscribe to an electronic mailing list to obtain the Sample Ballot Pamphlet electronically. Voters who subscribe will receive an e-mail notification of the availability of the pamphlet for each City of Phoenix election.
This pamphlet is available in alternative formats, including braille, large print, flash drive and compact disk (CD), upon request. To request an alternative format copy of this pamphlet, please call the City Clerk Department at 602-261-VOTE (8683) or use the 7-1-1 Relay System. Requests for alternative formats must be received by Friday, August 4, 2017.
