The city's Office of Arts & Culture is hosting a free workshop on Oct. 30 that will cover the do's and don'ts of successful project applications. The workshop will cover the various kinds of opportunities the city has for artists; tips on how to develop and submit applications for projects; and what to expect as you advance through the city's evaluation and approval process.<p>"Public art projects are as creative and engaging as any other that artists can undertake," said Office of Arts & Culture executive director Mitch Menchaca. "The challenge often comes in making the leap from studio to public works. This workshop will help new artists understand that process and put their best foot forward."</p><table cellspacing="0" width="100%" class="ms-rteTable-default"><tbody><tr><td class="ms-rteTable-default" style="width:100%;"><p>The Public Art 101 Workshop will cover the basics of creating public art projects, from applying for projects to designing and fabricating them.
