American Airlines Announces Daily Service to South Dakota and MexicoAmerican Airlines Announces Daily Service to South Dakota and Mexico<div class="ExternalClass5E684253F476459BA34D202686DAA6E1"><p>PHOENIX – American Airlines today announced it is expanding its service network at America's Friendliest Airport® with the launch of daily, nonstop flights from Phoenix to Rapid City, South Dakota and Chihuahua, Mexico. The Rapid City route will begin Sept. 4, and the service to Chihuahua is scheduled to begin Dec. 18. Both routes will be offered year-round.<br><br>The Rapid City route will be served on a CRJ200 aircraft, which carries approximately 50 passengers. The Mexico route will operate on a CRJ700, who holds approximately 70 passengers.<br></p><p><br>The addition of Chihuahua brings the total number of nonstop destinations in Mexico to 11 from Phoenix Sky Harbor. It follows an announcement by Volaris Airlines in March that it is offering new service to Puerto Vallarta beginning in June.</p><p><br>American Airlines also offers service to nine other cities in Mexico. American Airlines is Phoenix Sky Harbor's largest carrier and offers nonstop service to destinations across the U.S. and Canada from Phoenix.
