In this election, along with federal and state offices and issues, registered voters who live in the City of Phoenix's District 3 will decide who will fill a vacant council seat. The candidate receiving the majority of the votes cast at the Special Council Election will fill the vacancy for a term that expires Jan. 2, 2020.</p><p>To be eligible to vote in the Special Council Election, a person must be a registered voter and reside within District 3 at least 29 days immediately prior to this election. Voter registration forms are available at most libraries and government facilities, including the City Clerk Department on the 15<sup>th</sup> floor of City Hall. Registration forms are also available from the Maricopa County Recorder's Office at <a href="http://lists.phoenix.gov/t/1309457/354065/18656/3/">Maricopa.vote</a>. Those paper forms must be delivered to Maricopa County Elections or the Phoenix City Clerk's office by close of businesses on Monday, Oct. 10 or post marked prior to Oct. 10 if mailed, since post offices will be closed on Monday, Oct. 10 for Columbus Day.</p><p>Voters can also register online at <a href="http://lists.phoenix.gov/t/1309457/354065/7736/6/">servicearizona.com</a> with a valid driver's license or state-issued identification.
