Voting at the PollsVoting at the Polls<div class="ExternalClassB94A98BF7CB34DAAA0AC227640CF3024"><p>Because Maricopa County is conducting this election for the city, on Election Day, city of Phoenix residents will be using Maricopa County polling places to cast their ballot for the General Election.  This election includes the city of Phoenix measure, Proposition 487, which is an initiative proposing an amendment to the City Charter related to the city's employee retirement system.   </p><p>Voters must vote at the one specific polling place location designated for the precinct where they reside.  These polling places will be open on Election Day, Tuesday, Nov. 4, from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m.  The designated polling place location for each residence is printed on the back cover of the publicity pamphlet that was mailed last month to city of Phoenix households.  Voters' polling place location also can be found online at <a href="http://recorder.maricopa.gov/pollingplace/pollingplace.aspx">recorder.maricopa.gov/pollingplace/pollingplace.aspx</a> or by calling 602-506-1511.</p><p>Accessible voting devices that permit voters with disabilities to vote independently will be available at these sites.  As a reminder, every qualified elector is required to show proof of identity at the polling place before receiving a ballot.  The acceptable forms of identification are listed in the publicity pamphlet, which can be found at <a href="/cityclerk/services/election-information">phoenix.gov/elections</a>.  Voters who do not present acceptable identification may vote a provisional ballot at the polls, but may be required to present acceptable identification to an election official by 5 p.m. on the fifth business day after the election.</p><p>For more information about the upcoming election or identification accepted at the polls, contact Maricopa County at 602-506-1511 or the City Clerk Department at 602-261-VOTE (8683), TTY 602-534-2737 or visit <a href="/cityclerk/services/election-information">phoenix.gov/elections</a>.</p></div>11/4/2014 6:00:00 PMMedia inquiries: Stephanie Romero, 602-261-8512Maricopa County Elections602-506-1511 or 602-261-8683 (City Clerk Department)
