Phoenix Convention Center Celebrates Its VolunteersPhoenix Convention Center Celebrates Its Volunteers<div class="ExternalClassDEB4FC0B83094C43B17215388FD158F6"><p>​The Phoenix Convention Center loves its volunteers! Our volunteers often represent the face of the Phoenix Convention Center & Venues by serving as the first point of contact for our guests.  In honor of National Volunteer Month, the Phoenix Convention Center will host its annual Volunteer Appreciation Dinner on April 14.  Convention Center management will recognize the hard work of more than 238 volunteers who have donated more than 13,626.25 hours equivalent to $307,271.93 in time, resources and money. </p><p>The Phoenix Convention Center Volunteer Program has opportunities available for volunteers to work as ushers at the Orpheum Theatre and Symphony Hall as well as in the Convention Center to assist patrons and clients with directions, information about the surrounding area and things to do in addition to other duties.  The program provides a great opportunity for outgoing individuals who want to get involved in their community and meet others while providing a valuable service.</p><p>Volunteers and a guest will be treated to dinner provided by Aventura Catering, Inc. and enjoy a performance from James Reid Juggler Extraordinaire.</p><p>Phoenix Convention Center Director John Chan will attend the dinner to support the Volunteer Program and recognize the numerous contributions of the volunteers.  </p><p>For more information about volunteer opportunities available at the Phoenix Convention Center & Venues, contact Patty Dunlap at patty.dunlap@phoenix.gov.</p><p> </p><p style="text-align:center;"><strong>-30-</strong></p><p style="text-align:justify;"><strong><em> </em></strong></p></div>4/10/2015 7:00:00 AMCynthia Weaver602-568-8126
