Councilman Bill Gates Celebrates Expanded, Renovated Safeway in Moon ValleyCouncilman Bill Gates Celebrates Expanded, Renovated Safeway in Moon Valley<div class="ExternalClass9B7696862EE7450D8278B7535A78E7AC"><p>​Councilman Bill Gates welcomed the grand opening today of the expanded and renovated Safeway in the heart of Moon Valley at 13440 N. 7th St. The store celebrated its grand opening after a major interior expansion and exterior renovation.<br> <br> “This new Safeway is a major investment in Moon Valley and Phoenix,” Councilman Gates said. “This project was a team effort that could only happen with commitment from the shopping center owner, Triumph Properties Group, to renovate the store and shopping center exteriors, Safeway to invest in the massive store improvements and expansion, and the staff in the city’s Planning and Development Department to issue building permits within days of submittal to allow construction to move forward swiftly.”<br> <br> The grocery store’s remodel features a massive expansion that includes a designer floral showroom, expanded produce and bakery departments, new full-service on-site Starbucks and new meat and deli areas.<br> <br> Albertsons, NAI and the Safeway family of stores is one of the world’s largest food and drug retailers, with more than 2,200 stores in 34 states and the District of Columbia under 18 banners, including Albertsons, Safeway, Vons, Jewel-Osco, Shaw’s, Acme, Tom Thumb, Randalls, United, Pavilions, Star Markets, Market Street, Amigos, Carrs.
