<div class="ExternalClassAE0DF0389E884E918505224837F21290"><p><span style="font-family:"segoe ui", segoe, tahoma, helvetica, arial, sans-serif;font-size:14.6667px;">Phoenix District 3 Councilwoman Debra Stark released the statement below following City Council approval of the Election Funding Disclosure Ordinance:</span></p><p><span style="font-family:"segoe ui", segoe, tahoma, helvetica, arial, sans-serif;font-size:14.6667px;">"Phoenix voters have the right to know who is trying to influence or manipulate their vote. They deserve to know the intentions behind the money of unknown sources. We must shine light on political spending to keep the integrity in our elections.</span></p><p><span style="font-family:"segoe ui", segoe, tahoma, helvetica, arial, sans-serif;font-size:14.6667px;">On Feb. 15, 2018, I signed on to a letter with then-Councilwoman Kate Gallego and then-Mayor Greg Stanton to ask that an item be placed on a Formal agenda to begin the process to amend the City Charter regarding dark money.</span></p><p><span style="font-family:"segoe ui", segoe, tahoma, helvetica, arial, sans-serif;font-size:14.6667px;">I am proud that Phoenix voters overwhelming agreed-keep dark money out of our elections."</span></p></div>
