The city is hosting the "Remembering Our Fallen" photo exhibit from May 18 through June 1 in the atrium of Phoenix City Hall, 200 W. Washington St.

The very emotional exhibit is a collection of personal and military photos of the 149 Arizonans that died in the line of duty in military action in Iraq or Afghanistan after the September 11 terrorist attacks.* It was created by national nonprofit Patriotic Productions and was installed at city hall at the request of Councilman Gates.

"With Memorial Day approaching, it is with honor that the City hosts the "Remembering Our Fallen" Memorial. This simple but powerful exhibit allows a look past the statistics to see the real human loss and personal sacrifice from our fallen military veterans and their families, and it's a reminder that our security comes at a great cost," Councilman Gates said. "I want to thank the city manager and Patriotic Productions for working together to bring this moving tribute to Phoenix City Hall."

Patriotic Productions created the exhibit with financial support from Bellevue University. Patriotic Productions has created 16 state exhibits and has set a goal of having exhibits for all 50 states over the next 18 months. More information on the exhibit is available online at rememberingourfallen.org.

"Remembering Our Fallen" is a free exhibit thanks to the financial sponsorship of the Phoenix Military Veterans Commission Foundation and is accessible from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.

*The list of fallen Arizona service members also includes two soldiers that were killed stateside while supporting the overseas efforts.

5/19/2015 6:00:00 PMDavid Urbinato602-495-5405
