With these Urban Area Security Initiative (UASI) and Homeland Security Grant funds, our public safety departments will purchase equipment and vehicles, conduct training exercises, assess our critical infrastructure, and move to target harden our infrastructure to protect it from threats.</div><div><br></div><div>With today’s award, we have brought home more than $40 million in federal funds since 2012 to support the Phoenix Office of Homeland Security, and the Phoenix Police and Fire departments’ capabilities to prepare for and respond to a host of threats to our community’s safety.</div><div><br></div><div>I have been honored to travel to Washington D.C. with city staff, as many of my colleagues have, to advocate for funds to strengthen and enhance our public safety capabilities, and I will continue to join the fight for every additional dollar available to strengthen our public safety departments.”</div></div>6/16/2016 12:00:00 AMDavid Urbinato602-495-5405
