Chief Williams brings extensive law enforcement experience and a deep knowledge of our city that comes with 22 years of experience at Phoenix Police Department. In 2011, Chief Williams, then Phoenix Assistant Police Chief, was selected as Chief of Police for Oxnard, California. Chief Williams has led the Oxnard Police Department with a strong focus on community based policing, a practice I strongly support.</span></p><p>Thanks to all of the candidates involved in this process, especially Phoenix Assistant Police Chief and Finalist for the Police Chief position, Mike Kurtenbach. I'd also like to acknowledge the many community and local business leaders for participating in this recruitment process. </p><p>Thanks to our current Police Chief, Joseph Yahner.
