Statement from Councilman Daniel Valenzuela on Withdrawal of North Central Project ProposalStatement from Councilman Daniel Valenzuela on Withdrawal of North Central Project Proposal<div class="ExternalClassC4517CE189AE4007B5A524B3B0B1E2E1"><div>“This morning, developer IPA Management announced that it has withdrawn its proposal to build a massive senior living complex in the midst of one of our city's oldest, most historic residential neighborhoods. </div><div><br></div><div>As an elected leader who spent months working closely with the neighbors of North Central Phoenix, I applaud IPA's decision to abandon this project and the special zoning treatment it would have required. I also want to commend the hard work of the North Central Phoenix Homeowners Association, who made the voice of the neighborhood very loud and clear over the past few months.</div><div><br></div><div>Moving forward, I will continue to work with the neighbors, the development community, our Mayor and Council, and the North Phoenix Baptist Church on the best possible use for this acreage. While the IPA project came up short by not striking the appropriate balance between the needs of the neighborhood, the city's zoning restrictions and the upside of commercial development, I believe there is a way forward that keeps North Central unique and adds to what is one of the best places to live in our city."</div></div>12/15/2016 11:00:00 PMDavid Urbinato602-495-5405
