Councilman Sal DiCiccio's Response to Mayor Greg Stanton's Statement Re: Sanctuary CitiesCouncilman Sal DiCiccio's Response to Mayor Greg Stanton's Statement Re: Sanctuary Cities

"These individuals, which number in the millions, are in our prison system and taxpayers are not only taking care of them but the taxpayers have to bear the entire burden of the crimes they committed. They need to be deported immediately or as soon as possible within the legal system.

Mayor Stanton's response basically condones keeping these known criminals under the care of the taxpayer and under the care of the victims of their crimes. Mayor Stanton is telling the public our laws do not matter. If he feels so strongly about not obeying the law then he should try and change the law, which he has not done.

His statement tells the public it is ok to break the law. I will take this a step further. Our city police department knows who the gang members and drug dealers are, and I believe we should expand what President Trump is proposing and go after the individuals our police have identified and get them out of our country.

His statement is nothing but spin. It does NOT address the Trump plan to deport the criminals. He needs to answer that question. Should these known criminals be deported?”

11/17/2016 5:00:00 PMDavid Urbinato602-495-5405
