Statement from Councilman Michael Nowakowski on $2 Million Federal Light Rail GrantStatement from Councilman Michael Nowakowski on $2 Million Federal Light Rail Grant

“The City of Phoenix just received word we won a $2 million federal grant to help with planning for the South Central Light Rail line. Light Rail is going to be a huge boost to the area, and this grant will help small businesses along the route prepare for construction and help us plan for both pedestrian and bicycling developments around the new line.

World-class cities have connected neighborhoods that make it easy for residents to get around. With this grant, we can make sure that it’s even easier for neighborhood residents and businesses to connect to each other and the Valley beyond.

This grant is one more Team Phoenix victory that shows what we can accomplish when we work together. We worked closely with Valley Metro and a host of area non-profits and civic organizations to win this grant, and we were one of only two cities nationally to win the maximum award of $2 million.”

10/11/2016 11:00:00 PMDavid Urbinato602-495-5405
