Statement from Councilman Nowakowski on Passage of Lobbying OrdinanceStatement from Councilman Nowakowski on Passage of Lobbying Ordinance<div class="ExternalClass34A8BCF882634B1DA3A2874901D668E0"><p>“I am proud that the City Council unanimously adopted updates to our lobbying ordinance today. This action is the culmination of a process I started nine years ago, when I worked to get City Council financial records online. Now, as chairman of the Public Safety & Veterans Subcommittee, I have been honored to work on the lobbying ordinance to ensure that we continue to improve on that foundation, and make sure that this process is as simple and straightforward as possible.  The ability for lobbyists to register online and for residents to review lobbying information on the web, as well as City Council financial records, means all our residents can have confidence in our commitment to transparency.</p><div>“The action we have taken guarantees that city business is conducted in a transparent manner, and is fair to all involved. With this vote, we are making sure that Phoenix has the best-of-the-best when it comes to lobbying enforcement.” </div><div><br></div></div>6/1/2017 12:00:00 AMMatthew Heil602-534-0108
